A meeting on the implementation of the WWER-TOI project (Type Optimized and Informatized Large Power Unit Based on a Water-Cooled Water-Moderated Reactor) was held at the Visual Prototyping Center on 2 August.

The participants in the meeting that was chaired by Sergey Kirienko, director general of The State Atomic Energy Corporation ROSATOM, were heads of Rosenergoatom, Atomenergoproekt, OKB Gidropress, the Kurchatov Institute, and the Design and Engineering Branch of Rosenergoatom Concern.

The WWER-TOI project is expected to be completed by the end of 2012. A pilot version of the WWER-TOI is expected to be realized at the Nizhny Novgorod NPP.
