Rosatom is planning to participate in a tender for construction of a new nuclear power plant (NPP) in Argentina , which may called for this June, said Kirill Komarov, deputy director general for development and international business of Rosatom, at the forum ATOMEX North-West in St. Petersburg on April 19.

Russia was going to offer the customer two reactor units of AES-2006 project, as Nuclear.Ru was explained by the Rosatom's official. He noted that details of the supplier selection procedure were not known yet because all calls "will be made in May-June."

"So far, we are doing preparatory work in Argentina: present on our technologies, explain on quality assurance," Komarov said. "We are aware of our major competitors being active in this area," he added.
