The second power unit of Rostov NPP of 1000 MW capacity will be accepted for commercial operation on October 16, said Sergey Kiriyenko, the head of SC Rosatom, addressing the Tuesday session of the Presidium of the Russian Government.

At the present time, Rostechnadzor conducts a check of availability of the unit for commercial operation.

Rostov NPP is a branch of Concern Rosenergoatom. The second power unit started its first criticality program in December 2009. Now, the third and fourth power units are under construction. The first unit of the plant was put on line in 2001.
