Speaking at the session,  Sergei Kiriyenko, First Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of ROSATOM read out a greeting of the  President of Russian Federation Vladimir Putin to the participants of the Forum  and  said: ‘Over the past 10 years, despite various crises, 52 new power plants have been commissioned all over the world. Nuclear power plants around the world have prevented the emission of about 20 billion tons of CO2 into the atmosphere within 10 years. Nuclear technologies can be also successfully applied  in medicine, agriculture, mechanical engineering. But nuclear energy must remain an international issue, independent from the political situation, outside the political conjuncture. A lot of problems, including the development of alternative energy sources, can be resolved  only on a common platform of cooperation’.
Alexey Likhachev,Director General of  ROSATOM said: ‘The global agenda has changed during ATOMEXPO forums over the past 10 years,  . We can see an increase of environmental role in the world-wide political process. Without combining our efforts, we simply run the risk of encountering a global enviromantal collapse. We can see the efforts of the countries that have chosen the path of green energy and they are going along this road. And nuclear energy, of course, becomes an integral part of the new "green" energy balance. Today there is a transition of nuclear power from developed to emerging countries. New growth centres would like to get an access to nuclear energy in a quick, qualitative and commercially attractive way. And this is a fertile ground for collaboration. We need alliances for successful development. I am calling on the serious nuclear players to consider cooperation with Rosatom on nuclear technologies. Alliances are possible not only in commercial nuclear projects,  They are necessary for finding solutions in applied and fundamental science. We are cooperating and are ready to cooperate both with governments of countries and global players, and with small innovative companies’.
Lyubov Glebova,Member of the Russian Federation Council, noted: ‘Nuclear sector is the first in the country in terms of amount of generated sustainable humanitarian effects’.
William D. Magwood IV, the Director General of the Nuclear Energy Agency of OECD, Mikhail Chudakov, IAEA Deputy Director General , Mohammed Shaker, Minister of Electricity and Renewable  Energy of Egypt, Vladimir Semashko, Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus, Nejati Yamach, Deputy Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey  and Hortenzia Jimenez Rivera, the Director General of the Nuclear Energy Agency of Bolivia took part in the plenary session.
