The assembly process included the installation of the reactor internals, the loading of dummy fuel assemblies, the installation of the protective tube unit and the upper unit - the reactor lid.
In the next few days, the specialists will start filling the reactor plant primary circuit with demineralized water and, after receiving the necessary permissions, will start the main tests that precede the hot run of the reactor plant of Belarus NPP Unit 2.
For reference:
Belarus NPP having two VVER-1200 reactors with the total capacity of 2400 MW is being constructed in Ostrovets (the Republic of Belarus). The Russian III+ generation design that is fully compliant with the international standards and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) safety recommendations has been selected for the first NPP in Belarus. Belarus NPP Unit 1 has become the first Gen III+ unit in operation built abroad based on the Russian technologies.
