The Marchenkovskaya wind farm began supplying electric power and capacity to the wholesale electric power and capacity market from July 1, 2021.
The Marchenkovskaya wind farm located in Zimovniki, Rostov Oblast, with an installed capacity of 120 MW, consists of 48 wind turbine generators. Local content of facility equipment, as confirmed by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, amounts to 68%.
“The Marchenkovskaya WF is our first wind farm in the Rostov Oblast, but not the first production facility operating in the region. Here in the Rostov Oblast, in Volgodonsk, is our serial production of key wind turbine components and assemblies. As part of wind energy projects, NovaWind JSC has localized in the country a new modern technology of wind turbines with permanent magnets, and the Marchenkovskaya wind farm has already been supplied with equipment completely manufactured in Russia. All this enabled many Russian companies to master new technologies for the production of components for our wind farms. In total, since the start of the project, we have already commissioned 540 MW of wind power capacity. At present, we are simultaneously carrying out construction of three more wind farms with a total capacity of 240 MW”, noted Andrey Nesteruk, Deputy CEO for Wind Farm Lifecycle Management, NovaWind JSC.
By the end of 2021, NovaWind JSC plans to commission two more wind farms in the Stavropol Krai with a total capacity of 180 MW. In total, until 2024, ROSATOM will commission wind power plants with a total capacity of approximately 1.2 GW.
