It was noted that the pandemic once again has confirmed the fact that in the modern world the business efficiency, mainly, is determined not only by financial results but the social mission, capability to influence global processes of the society. Many companies already include achievements of the UN Sustainable Development Goals in their business strategies and sustainable development and social responsibility become the basis for the long-term business work.
“Today, business is completely responsible for the world which will be tomorrow and which the future generation will face. The introduction of CSRs and ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) principles in business – strategies and operations of companies – naturally is the necessary condition of answering these challenges. Besides, many international researches have shown the direct correlation between ESG and financial performance of organizations. This means that the company cannot be successful if it does not pay due attention to its social mission. Consumers’ goals and values also have changed. Now, they prefer products of the companies which values and views they share,” Charwoman of the Board and Deputy Director General of ROSATOM Tatiana Terentieva noted.
The next meeting of the Board is planned for March 2021. It will be held in the framework of the International Public Participation Forum #МЫВМЕСТЕ.
