GSPI JSC, under general control of Rusatom Overseas JSC, has received design documentation approval from the Main Department of State Expertise to construct a radiation therapy building at the Altai Regional Oncology Centre.
The approval means detailed design documentation development and construction and installation work can now begin. The building is to host a radiation and radionuclide diagnostics floor fitted with cutting-edge, high-precision specialised treatment and diagnostics equipment, which will increase the scope of medical treatment administered to oncology patients.
The contract was signed in February 2020. In the project, GSPI acts as a general designer of the new building. Its construction process will embrace two stages: in addition to the radiation therapy building and the inpatient treatment building, engineering and support facilities are to be built, including a diesel power plant, local purification structures, heating pipe main, and medical gas supply system. Besides patient admittance and treatment, the building will accommodate a training centre for the medical staff to have theory lessons and exchange experience with the healthcare institutions that specialise in oncology conditions diagnostics and treatment.

Over the last year, GSPI JSC has performed design and feasibility study work for such large centres as the Nuclear Medicine Centre in Khimki and the Dmitry Rogachev National Medical Research Centre. Today, GSPI is the main design and construction contractor for centres of nuclear science and technology overseas.
