Paks NPP is the only operating nuclear power plant in Hungary with four units of VVER-440. Paks NPP produces more than 50% of the electricity generated in Hungary. At the end of 2014, Russia and Hungary signed an intergovernmental agreement (IGA) on the construction of the fifth and sixth units of nuclear power plant Paks with two VVER-1200 reactors of generation 3+ that meet the highest safety requirements. The construction of the Paks-2 NPP is proceeded by JSC ASE Engineering company, the engineering division of Rosatom State Corporation. Rusatom Automated Control Systems JSC implements a comprehensive project for the development, supply and commissioning of automated process control systems for the 5th and 6th power units of Paks NPP. Automated process control systems of Leningrad NPP-2 serves as a reference for Paks-2 NPP.
