The document was signed within the framework of the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok on September 3, 2021. Alexey Likhachev, Director General of ROSATOM, and Zarina Doguzova, Head of the Federal Tourism Agency, signed the agreement.
The partnership cooperation is based on the next step of industrial tourism in the Russian Federation. The cooperation will be aimed at the formation of a single convenient environment for tourists who choose unique industrial facilities as part of their journey. Tourists will enjoy a thoughtful and safe tour, educational experience, and immersion in the specifics of lean manufacturing, which will allow for explaining the production process, mechanisms of labor costs reduction, and optimizing deadlines.
The created solutions will allow Russia to develop a unique tourist destination, which is very popular all over the world. Russia has a high potential in this field. There are almost 18,000 industrial enterprises in the country, and only 3–4% of them arrange tours. Industrial tourism can both become an interesting point of a vacation program and help to form a production labor culture and increase the prestige of manual labour.
The first step in the cooperative work will be the creation of a single database of all Russian industrial enterprises ready to arrange tours and be integrated into the industrial tourism ecosystem. Industrial tourist routes will be developed within the framework of the project, including visits to enterprises, creation of individual programs, training in production processes, conducting master classes from the best specialists, and search for business partners.
The pilot regions for the project start are Nizhny Novgorod, Belgorod, Sakhalin and Chelyabinsk Regions, as well as the Krasnoyarsk Krai. Within the framework of cooperation, a joint expert council will also be created to include the representatives of large industrial sites of the country, federal and regional tour operators, experts in the field of industrial tourism and lean technologies, and the Regional Industry Development Corporation.
