“The development of Russian storage batteries production for electro-buses and electric vehicles is one of priority areas of ROSATOM’s new businesses. The joining of our efforts is an important step along the path of Russian electric transport development. It is a roomy and promising market where it is important to change for environment-friendly machinery by convenient and affordable way for all regions of Russia,” said Kirill Komarov, First Deputy Director General and Director for Development and International Business of ROSATOM.
“KAMAZ has science and technology competences and proven experience in development and production of electric transport, its operation and servicing. Production of broad model range electrically driven transport is one of strategic areas of the company development, and we are happy to join efforts with technological leaders. Our common goal is to broaden the application of environment-safe transport in the country: development of electric transport of different classes, as well as arranging for convenient and affordable recharging infrastructure for these cars. I am sure that the long-term and stable joint work will bring a weighty result in short time,” General Director of PJSC KAMAZ Sergei Kogogin commented.
“Environment-friendly transport plays an important role in creation of comfortable life for urban environment. For ROSSETI, this means new problems and opportunities related to development of recharging infrastructure. We actively cooperate with Moscow. Only in 2020 we started more than 50 ulrafast recharging stations for electro-buses in the capital. We hope that the agreement signed today with the leaders in electric transport and its component parts production will allow for scaling this experience,” Konstantin Mikhailik, Deputy General Director for Digital Transformation of PJSC ROSSETI, noted.
The parties are interested in the development and enhancement of the cooperation on a long-term and stable basis and plan to join efforts to broaden the use of electric transport in Russia, including aiming at reducing negative impact of transport on the environment.
