On the 15-18 February, 2020, in Egypt, Hurghada was held the 12th International Conference on Nuclear Sciences and its Applications, organized by the Egyptian Society for Nuclear Sciences and Applications. The event was held under surveillance of the Egyptian Ministry of Energy and Renewable Energy and the Egyptian Atomic Energy Authority. ROSATOM acted as one of the main event’s partner. 
The main part of the conference was opened by Director of Rosatom regional center in MENA region Alexander Voronkov who has made a report on various areas of ROSATOM global development. During the presentation, the speaker shared with the participants detailed information on Rosatom solutions in the field of construction of large-capacity nuclear power plants, medium and low-power nuclear power plants, radiation technologies, research reactors, nuclear science, technology centers and others. “ROSATOM today is one of the global technological leaders with the resources and competencies to successfully operate in all parts of the nuclear energy production chain, from uranium mining to decommissioning. For 75 years of Russian nuclear power industry development, we have gained the reputation of a trustworthy supplier of innovative and reliable solutions in the field of nuclear energy and non-energy projects. The MENA region has a great potential for the use of atomic technologies for its sustainable development in different spheres of life such as nuclear medicine, radiation technology, desalination, nuclear research centers, safety systems based on radiation technologies and many more. ROSATOM is ready to actively support Arab partners in developing their peaceful nuclear programs”, - concluded Alexander Voronkov.
The International conference on nuclear sciences and its applications takes place once every four years, and gathers narrow-profile specialists in nuclear science and its applications, representatives of governmental structures, educational and scientific organizations, as well as representatives of the business community.
