An awarding of certificates on the successful completion of the Russian language course by specialists of the El-Dabaa nuclear power plant, which is being built in accordance with the Russian project, took place in the St. Petersburg branch of the Technical Academy of Rosatom.
The event was attended by Vice-Rector-Director of St. Petersburg Branch of Rosatom Technical Academy Denis Novikov, the Theoretical Training Center Director of St. Petersburg Branch of International NPP Personnel Training Centre Sergey Romanov, the director of Peter the Great St. Petersburg Humanities Polytechnic University Krasnoshchekov Victor, the Director of the International Centre of Russian Language Victoria Gorbenko and teachers of institute.

For six months, teachers from Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University have worked with the specialists of the El-Dabaa NPP. For this purpose, the staff of the university compiled and published a textbook "Russian as a foreign language for specialists in the nuclear energy industry". By the end of the training, the Egyptian specialists have successfully passed two exams - oral and written. During the awarding ceremony, it was noted that foreign students had quickly and effectively mastered given knowledge.
Having passed the language practice and adaptation to the new socio-cultural conditions, the Egyptian specialists began the technical part of the training within the construction contract of the first nuclear power plant in the Arab Republic of Egypt. As the Theoretical Training Center Director of St. Petersburg Branch of International NPP Personnel Training Centre Sergey Romanov noted, a staff of instructors had been formed for specialists training. The stuff consists of experienced employees who have many years of NPP operation experience and young professionals with fluent English who have passed special training course at Rosatom Technical Academy.
Within the project implementation Rosatom State Corporation will have trained about 1700 EL-Dabaa NPP specialists up until 2028. Required educational and methodological base and technical means of training will allow Egyptian trainees to successfully master both theoretical knowledge of the main special subjects and skills necessary to ensure safe operation of the plant systems and equipment.

El-Dabaa NPP is the first NPP in Egypt which will consist of four 1200 MW power units and VVER-1200 reactors of generation 3+. This is a technology of the latest generation which already has references and operates successfully. The project design and construction is performed by the Engineering Division of ROSATOM. In accordance with contractual obligations, Russia will build the plant and supply Russian nuclear fuel for the NPP entire life cycle. In addition to this, Russia will provide assistance to the Egyptian partners in the NPP operation and maintenance during the first 10 years of its operation.
