Representatives of the Turkish Nuclear Regulatory Agency (NDK) visited Novovoronezh NPP.
Turkish regulator employees were observers during the knowledge assessment that was conducted by the Federal Environmental Industrial and Nuclear Supervision service of Russia (Rostechnadzor) for the critical personnel of Novovoronezh NPP – MCR operators receiving permission to work.

Representatives of NDK visited power unit 6 (the main control room and the turbine hall) with VVER-1200 reactor of “3+” generation. Similar power units are now being built at the Akkuyu NPP in Turkey.
“We are pleased to visit the NPP, which is the reference for the first nuclear power plant which is being built in Turkey. At the same time, all nuclear power plants are large-scale and technically complicated buildings and it is impressive. We arrived in Novovoronezh in the context of partnership with Rostechnadzor, with whom we have successful cooperation. Visiting NPP gives a better idea of production processes. The information we received here will be very useful for us. “We asked a lot of questions and received detailed answers, what is more, there was an open discussion of all points of interest to us,” said Erdem Çakır, a representative of Nuclear Facilities Department (NDK).
