JSC UECC (an enterprise of Fuel Company of ROSATOM TVEL, Novouralsk, Sverdlovsk Region) let loose more than 3,000 of baby carps in the Ob River in Sverdlovsk Region. Total weight of two-month baby carps was nearly 100 kg.

Baby carps were brought up in the special fishery, FSUE Glavrybvod, by a JSC UECC’s order. They were delivered by a special vehicle where all things necessary to support fish living were provided.
Representatives of FSUE Glavrybvod, Lower Ob Territorial Department of Rosrybolovstvo, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of Sverdlovsk Region and Mayor of Yekaterinburg Alexei Orlov traced the process of stocking of fish, which passed as planned and without issues.

“The care of preservation and replenishment of water bio resources is part of UECC’s environment protection activities. The stocking of fish will facilitate restoring the population of carps in the Ob River, which is one of the largest rivers in the world,” General Director of JSC UECC Aleksandr Belousov noted.

JSC UECC is the key enterprise of the Novouralskiy Industrial Cluster. It is part of conversion and enrichment complex of Fuel Company of ROSATOM TVEL. The enterprise’s first product – enriched uranium – was obtained by gas diffusion on November 11, 1949. Since 1962, the gas centrifuge technique has been used for enrichment at JSC UECC.
