Rosatom enterprises perform a wide range of activities in the thermal power-engineering field, from designing thermal power stations to equipment production. Within the structure of Rosatom ATOMPROEKT specializes in the design and development of thermal power plants, and has developed designs for more than 80 thermal power stations and 20 hydro-electrical power plants constructed around the world. The power facilities operate on different types of fuel.

Rosatom enterprises produce equipment for thermal power stations, in particular, the flagship product for the enterprises under the holding company Atomenergomash are boilers (with natural circulation, as well as drum-type and direct-flow boilers with supercritical parameters), and which are developed taking into account state-of-art technical solutions to operate on different types of fuel: fuel oil, gas, solid fuel (black and brown coal, lignite). These are designed for thermal power plants with a capacity ranging from 50 to 800 MW. The boilers are supplied as module-type structures that make installation easier. The boilers operate at power plants in 20 countries around the world.

In addition the enterprises under this same holding company produce waste heat recovery boilers for modern steam and gas installations with a capacity ranging from 2,5 to 450 MW, as well as water heating boilers with a capacity ranging from 0,1 to 2 MW to recover the heat from the engine exhaust gases from diesel electric plants.
